The Number 1 Fundamental Quality of A Successful Businessman

While it may be true that you could possibly lose being a good player, it is also true that you cannot win without being one. Your team is the most important part of your business. In order for you to play the game right, and in the business world this is very crucial, you need to learn that in order for you to create a better team, it will always start with you. As you boost yourself, this will bring in more value to your team. Another fact that needs to be looked at is that while God may have bestowed upon us qualities that are out of our control, we do have the ability to work as a team member to have the right team unity for the survival of our business.

The number one fundamental quality of a successful business man is: Flexibility. Cliché as it may sound, the only thing that is constant in this world is change. And if you do not change your ways to complement the changes that come to your business, you might as well close up. Also, if you will not adjust your attitude for your team, your team might transform you.

Inflexibility or rigidness is probably one of the worst of all man’s failures. You can discover passion and impulsivity, defeat your fears with confidence, and laziness with self-control and discipline. But for rigidness of mind, there is no treatment. On the other hand, those who are flexible will never go out of shape.

Flexible people are teachable. They always make it point to put breaking new ground on top of their list. They are emotionally mature and secure as well. They look at a change in their duties or a new situation according to its merits. Flexible people are creative. When tough times arrive, they search for ways to overcome them. Creativity brings about flexibility. Another great thing about flexible people is that they are service oriented. People who concentrate more on themselves are less likely to serve their team than those who concentrate more on attending others.

The first step to becoming a valuable member of the team is being eager to adjust yourself for the team, not the other way around. What you should do is start the habit of learning and discovering. Try to jot down notes on what you learn everyday. This could develop a habit of searching for things to discover. Another thing you should do is to reassess your tasks. You might realize that there could be an alternative role you can perform better than your present one. It could get you to shift roles or not. No matter what the outcome, the mental exercise it gives you will help to add more to your flexibility.
